Progress is still to be made to bring hinterland residents/visitors to Milford-on-Sea although it is hoped that the Horsedrawn Omnibus Service may help with this

Several closed shops have re-opened, primarily as eating establishments, which is giving visitors (and residents) several new placed to eat and drink

A summer Horsedrawn Omnibus service has had its first summer and it is anticipated that it will be developed for 2010.

The Marine Café is being re-developed and it is envisaged by the owner that the project will be completed December 2009.

Sturt Pond is a Local Nature Reserve Designate.

Ongoing discussions with NFDC, NFNPA and the Parish Council are held to see if the Parish Office could accommodate more Tourist Information.

Pedestrian safety, crossing enhancements environmental improvements, slowing traffic

Many of these aspirations for the village centre have been realised within the Hampshire Villages Initiative.  Further enhancements are being considered by the MCP and the Parish Council which will include a feasibility study and full public consultation

The temporary Youth Building has been established and is extremely popular

Affordable Housing

The Parish Council is working with NFDC to bring to fruition MS-2 which includes an element of Affordable Housing

Resist infilling

The Parish Council has continued to fight infilling wherever possible and the new Local Development Framework will hopefully reduce the number of properties that can be demolished to be replaced with two, three or more units on the same footprint

The Parish Council continues to meet with SWA to try and resolve the situation

Enhance biodiversity and LNP designation

The Parish Council continues to work closely with our two conservation groups, the Milford Environment Group (MEG) and the Wildlife Recording Group (WRG).  The WRG has helped achieve LNR designation for the Pleasure Grounds, Studland Common & Sharvells Copse, while the PC, WRG & MEG are close to having Sturt Pond designated

The Public Inquiry has recently re-opened and the Parish Council and DAMAGE have sent in their representations

The Lottery Grant Application £50,000 was successful.  A bid for SEEDA is currently in progress.

The Local Development Frameworks for NFDC and NFPA are currently being put together and the Parish Council is being consulted on all documents.  The Conservations Area Boundaries and Character Appraisal review has recently been available for public consultation

The Pleasure Grounds have recently been designated as a LNR.

The Parish Council continues to discuss this matter with the Environment Agency and SWA.  A complaint has also been raised by the Parish Council with OFWAT

The War Memorial Hospital is now used for many day clinics. The League of Hospital & Community Friends has worked tirelessly for this.

Retain ‘Beat Bobby’

The new PC Marco Marchiori has replaced PC Del Jones and stays in close contact with the Parish Council.  A surgery is operated on the 1st Monday of the month from 10.00am – 12.00pm in the Village Hall, Park Road and is open for all residents.
