Plans for 170 new homes on land north of Manor Road

Plans for 170 new homes to be built on land north of Manor Road (Site F in the Local Plan Review) in Milford-on-Sea can be found below.  They are a work in progress by the developer Pennyfarthing Homes and no formal planning application has been received.  When an application is received, it will be discussed at a Parish Council Planning Committee and the public will have the opportunity to comment directly to the District Council.

  1. I am very lucky to work at the Primary School/Pre-School and understand we need housing but please don’t let developers take away the privacy and safety from our village children.
Is it necessary to build flats over looking the playground?
Why is the car park behind our ‘ Little Wood ‘ opening it up to vandalism and prying eyes?
The rear pathway is a huge security issue making the rear of the School vulnerable to goodness knows who spying on activities on the field.
Who is going to take responsibility for keeping the rear gate secure at all times? Plus ,School will need to make a path across our running track to get to it!
The drop off/car park needs to be with the houses for staff and pupils to access front entrance safely. Parents are reluctant to drop their children at the gate with a member staff there. As a member of staff I would not use it as it is too secluded for lone females and the staff entrance is at the front of School.
‘ Child Protection ‘ and ‘ Safeguarding ‘ are words used a lot in Education and in this day and age we need to protect the children.
Please don’t take away the innocence of their childhood or the privacy to enjoy the playground and playing field and finally their safety is paramount!
I would be very interested in putting my views at the next meeting from a concerned member of staff if possible.
