Ravens Way resurfacing works from 15th September

Message from Hampshire County Council:

Operation Resilience – NF997 Ravens Way, Milford on Sea – Carriageway Resurfacing

As part of Operation Resilience, Hampshire County Council’s programme to make Hampshire’s roads more resilient to the effects of extreme weather and heavy traffic, this is to inform you of upcoming carriageway resurfacing in Ravens Way, between the junctions with Westover Road.

The resurfacing works are programmed to start on 15 September 2020 and are expected to last for 4 days, during which time the road will be closed to vehicular traffic between the hours of 09:00 – 16:30hrs. The road will be open as normal during the evening.

The above timescales are weather dependent, any significant changes to the scheduled dates will be made clear on the yellow sign boards located at the works limits.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, works will be carried out ensuring safe working practices, and social distancing between site operatives and members of the public are maintained at all times. The appropriate traffic management will be in place to prevent any interaction.

In order to help us to complete the work as quickly as possible, please ensure that no vehicles are parked on the road on the days of the resurfacing. Please be aware any vehicles left parked on the road that prevent the works taking place, face the risk of being removed.

For Ravens Way residents:  For your safety and that of our workforce, we are unable to guarantee vehicular access to and from your property during working hours. Should you need to make an essential journey during the periods of closure, please contact a member of the workforce in advance and they will be able to advise if they can accommodate your request. Pedestrian access will be available at all times.

The surfacing operation uses a separate bitumen layer in addition to the new asphalt carriageway surface. In order to avoid potential injury or damage, please do not walk across the carriageway during the works unless directed by a member of the workforce.

Thank you for your co-operation and apologies for any inconvenience these works may cause.
