Results of Seafront Play Facility Survey
Milford-on-Sea Parish Council would like to thank all those who have taken part in the recent consultation survey about proposed new play facilities at the Seafront.
The survey, which closed on 8th December, received a total of 457 responses. 83% of respondents said they thought there was a need for additional play facilities in the parish and 77% said they thought the proposed larger play facilities should be located at the seafront adjacent to the current play area.
For the remaining 23% who thought the proposed new facilities should be located elsewhere, other locations cited as alternatives included:
MoS1 near the primary school (25 responses), Barnes Lane Recreation Ground (11 responses), Carrington Lane Recreation Ground (9 responses), the old Coach Park near the Marine café (5 responses), the old Putting Green (3 responses), “elsewhere” (but not specified – 21 responses), the Village Green (1 response), Keyhaven (1 response) and adjacent to the kiosk at the car park on Hordle Cliff (1 response).
With this overwhelming support for additional play facilities and for those facilities to be located at the sea front next to the Needles Eye Café, the Parish Council has again formally requested that the District Council lease the two areas of land to the Parish Council and the outcome is awaited.
